The Houston Pearls Program
The Pearls Program is a comprehensive continuum of gender-responsive services to address trauma, healing, life skills alternative education and vocational training, mental health treatment, domestic violence prevention, teen pregnancy prevention, substance abuse prevention, mentoring and strengthening of families, and resiliency and self-esteem building.
The Pearls Program will meet two times per month in the evening from August through May. Participants will gather for a pot luck dinner followed by group therapy and skills programming. Teens will participate in a community service activity each semester. The courts will provide an opportunity for normal activities holiday parties, college visits, art, and music enrichment, and a career fair are a few examples of programming we intend to provide.
